Passport + Flight = Family Trip to Florida

Last week we realized that we needed to get Mason's passport ASAP as we were planning on going to Florida at the beginning of March. Curtis' Mom and I drove to Whitby to the passport office to speed up the process. This sounds simple right..unless you use a GPS, don't know how you got to Whitby and get the GPS stuck in a compartment in the car!! Yes that was us.

When we arrived at the Whitby Mall (which all my prospects for shopping were quickly crushed) we put the GPS in a compartment so that it wasn't just left in the window of the car. After getting everything finished at the passport office we went back to the car only to realize we couldn't open the compartment!!!! At this point, what did we try to do? Break it of course!!!!! We were desperate. So we called Curtis' brother (who we figured wouldn't rat us out that we were lost) only to find out he used his GPS and wasn't sure how to get home, he said he would look it up.

In the meantime we passed a GM Dealership (Thank you Whitby GM Parts Department for helping two hopeless woman and a baby!). I told Curtis' Mom to pull in and ran out to the part department to ask them if they could help. I must say I got a few quizzical looks when I said I think she had an Acadia and somehow our GPS was stuck and we were stranded and couldn't get home, could they help? The guy (there were only 2 there) told us to pull in. In about 10 seconds there were 10 guys in the car trying to get this open. Apparently they have a special tool and the compartment popped right open!!! They jokingly asked if we tried to break it, where we both replied completely serious "Yes, but the damn thing wouldn't!" Curtis' Mom asked if they get a lot of woman with stupid questions in here, to which the guy replied "No, not really!" Way to make us feel better!!!! But now we knew how to get home. So we called Curtis' brother to let him know we were okay, and my sister-in-law answered. We explained to her what had happened and said we knew we could trust them to keep it a secret, that is when she laughed at us and said her husband maybe, her no way!! This means war!!!

So Mason has a passport that should arrive in a few days, and Curtis and I have booked our flights to Florida!! Curtis is staying with us for 10 days and Mason and I have an open ended ticket and plan to stay 2-3 weeks!!! We are headed to Disneyworld, shopping and lots of swimming!!!!! I cannot wait!

All in all it has been a hectic week!!! I have taken my Signing Time Review and passed, so am now able to teach Sign Language to children 3 years and under. I have a lot of learning and practicing to do before I start teaching but am getting closer.

I teach my adult beginner computer course tonight and Curtis and Mason will have "boy time." I am sure it will go great, and Mason will be wearing mismatched pajamas and clashing socks, but will have a HUGE smile on his face!!!

Last night Auntie Leanne and Uncle Dylan took Mason to a birthday dinner at Dylan's brothers. He had a blast with them, and even licked cake icing off of Leanne's finger. That is what Aunts are for!!! Curtis and I took his Mom and Dad out to celebrate his Mom's birthday--a great dinner, but very quiet without Mason.

Two more sleeps and my "baby" will be 6 months old. I cannot believe time has gone by this fast. He is changing so much!!!! I can barely change him on the change table because he just wants to roll over and play with everything! I can't wait for the crawling to begin!

Well we are off to have a quiet Thursday before I teach! Enjoy the sunshine and stay warm!
